PLOT TO PLATE is a broadly themed event based around all things food related. Encompasing growing food, cooking and eating it - what more can there be to life? The event , organised by Boroughbridge Allotment Society, will take place in locations around Boroughbridge Town Centre including Hall Square, the Fountain on St James Square and the Shared Space in Boroughbridge Car Park. PLOT TO PLATE is proud to welcome YORKSHIRE AIR AMBULANCE to this year's event as our chosen charity. They will be there on the day to promote their fabulous work. NEW to PLOT TO PLATE this year : THE GREAT BOROUGHBRIDGE BAKE OFF. Open to all. Chris Astley from 'The Dining Room' has kindly agreed to judge the event. 3 Categories : best large cake : small cakes : decorated cakes. Will take place at and kindly hosted by Hunter's Estate Agents. STEPHANIE MOON : Executive chef at Rudding Park has confirmed her attendance. Stephanie will be providing a demonstration on the day in our new demonstration marquee. Stephanie has a passion for food and particularly Wild cooking, You can see her blog at www.thewildcooks.com LYNDA MOSS : Although now retired from her floristry business. Lynda is busier than ever and has agreed to join us in our demonstration marquee. She will be showing us how we can incorporate vegetables and fruit into our flower arrangements. SOPHIE JEWETT : Sophie brings her expert knowledge of chocolate to Plot to Plate. She has kindly agreed to offer demonstrations of her skills in the demonstration marquee. JONATHAN BATCHELOR : from Ramus seafoods. Jonathan will be demonstrating his expertise with cooking fish in our new demonstration marquee. To date the following have confirmed that they will be attending ATTRACTIONS SCARECROW TRAIL : Throughout Boroughbridge town centre - vote for your favourite on the day CHILDREN'S FANCY DRESS : Prizes for the best scarecrow costume. MINI SCARECROW COMPETITION : a display of the mini scarecrows created in our local primaries to be judged on the day BOROUGHBRIDGE HIGH SCHOOL BAND will be playing throughout the day BOROUGHBRIDGE HISTORICAL SOCIETY : will be presenting a display in the library entitled 'Boroughbridge at War' focusing on agriculture during the 2nd World War. LOCOS IN MOTION : "Morris Dancers with Attitude!".This involves male and female dancers blacking up their faces to disguise themselves and dancing vigorously while forcefully clashing sticks of various lengths. Sounds like fun! KIDDIES' BARREL RIDE : located on the shared space in Back Lane Car Park WILLOW WEAVING : Make your own willow fish while you listen to some authentic medieval music. WACKS WICKED PLANTS : A fabulous stall offering all kinds of carnivorous plants, including pitcher plants, venus fly traps and a selection of sundews. BOROUGHBRIDGE ARTISANS : a marquee with local Boroughbridge crafters showing their skills and selling their wares. Any local crafter wanting to be involved contact the organisers. 11. GILLIAN'S CUPCAKES : Locally made edible treats 12. BRIGHTER BOROUGHBRIDGE & DISTRICT : An information stand promoting a new organisation for Boroughbridge and surrounding area which aims to enhance the environment. 13-14.
