Boroughbridge Allotment Society
We are a recently formed allotment society in the North Yorkshire market town of Boroughbridge.
Formed in December 2009 the society has agreed the terms of a lease with Boroughbridge Town Council to set up an allotment site at Aldborough Gate to meet the local community needs
The 2nd Allotment Society Summer Show will take place on Sunday 26th August at the allotment site. The schedule for the show is available on the Society News web page which can be reached by clicking on the title above.Other attractions will include a
BBQ, a Cake Stall and a Petanque competition.

The Allotment Society produce show was held on Sunday 26th August. Congratulations to all those who won a rosette, and particular congratulations to our new BAS Cup winner for the most points in the show : Keith Trott. See all the class winners on our Society News page.
25th April 2012 - Allotment Plots
All Allotment Plots Let
All available allotment plots are now let. We have opened a waiting list for anyone interested in joining it. Please use the Contact Us webpage or email firstname.lastname@example.org to register your interest.
10th March 2012 - Fencing of the new Allotment Plots
The contractor has started the fencing that will surround the new allotment plots. If everything goes smoothly the fencing is expected to be completed by Saturday 17th March when the pegging out of the plots can commence.
23rd February 2012 - Successful Lottery grant application
Subject to completing a few more forms the Society has recieved notification that our application for a grant for £10,000 to install a Kazubaloo composting toilet has been successful. Details regarding the installation will follow in the hopefully none to distant future.
18th February 2012 - MP Andrew Jones donates B&Q Voucher
Local MP Andrew Jones has donated £250 of B&Q vouchers, won in a House of Commons raffle, to the Allotment Society. The Society would like to thank Andrew for this kind donation. The vouchers will be put towards materials for a water supply to the new allotment plots
January 2012 - Grant Application
The Society has made a grant application to the Big Lottery Fund "Awards for All" to install a "Kazubaloo" on the site. A Kazubaloo is a free standing, public toilet system which functions without water, electricity or chemical products.
January 2012 - Additional Plots -Signing Up
The Society has commenced signing up new members for the plots in the allotment extension. The target is to allow access to the new plots berfore the end of March 2012.
December 2011 - Additional Plots
The Society has managed to lease the remainder of the allotment field from the Town Council and, as a consequence, there will be about 35 additional plots to lease. The Committee believes this should clear the waiting list as of the beginning of December 2011. Quotes are being sought for the additional fencing and a draft plan of the new plots has been drawn up. Updates are to follow in the near future.
